Missionary Candi Bunch

Candi Bunch, with Wycliffe Bible Translators, just began her mission work Thanksgiving weekend, 2008.

Candi teaches 7th and 8th grade Math and Science to missionary children at the Rain Forest International School (RFIS) in Yaounde, Cameroon. Cameroon is in West Africa bordering Nigeria, Chad, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Congo.

“Everybody is enjoying life” is what little Daniel, my pastor’s son, said as everyone was busy eating and stopped talking. We were celebrating the birthday of my pastor’s wife, Lucy, and another friend, Ruth-Abigail. My roommate, Liz, had prepared a wonderful meal, and we had just sat down to eat. I began to think about what it is like when we are fellowshipping with the Lord through prayer and reading His word. It brings nourishment to our souls and joy to our hearts. It causes us to “enjoy life” that He gives us. We get quiet and just enjoy Him.

This also makes me think about those who are unable to truly enjoy life because they don’t know Jesus Christ. They are searching in every direction for something to fill that void in their lives, and many don’t even know who Christ is because His Word is not yet in the language they understand.  Please join me in praying for them.
